Jaime is a digital photographer that is based in Nottingham. Whilst her work is predominantly portraiture focussed, she has a background in commercial photography. Ranging from pet portraits all the way through to cleaning product photography. Please take a look through the various galleries.

About Uncanny

‘Uncanny’, probes at the misperception of others that arises from the value judgement of appearance that is commonplace in our everyday social interactions. Jaime captures delicate moments in time that present an intimate representation of the sitter. 

​

The portraits allow the sitter to present ‘as’ themselves to the camera without stylisation or adornment. This approach separates the sitter from their online personas that often present a distorted version of ‘the self’ in response to societal pressures. Discrimination based on visual representation still goes quietly unchallenged within society and is now manifesting in artificial intelligence software such as facial recognition.
